Hi folks,

we recently had an organisational meeting and went through our checklist for the conference.

You will be happy to hear that we have secured a solid financial foundation for the conference. Apart from the 40 invited speakers, there is defenitely money  set aside to support a number of poster presenters. Carl Pilcher has agreed to give a welcome-speech, but will unfortunately not be able to attend in person - but thanks to the magic of the internet, this won't be a hindrance. The details for the excursion are also firmed up and we have even started to look into the minor things like poster walls etc. So all in all, it's looking good.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, the deadline to apply for a talk/poster is not too far off. So we will hopefully be able to start wading through the applications and have the invitations ready by the end of march. Am really lookind forward to reading your abstracts - it's all very administrative at the moment and it will be good to get busy on the science-stuff for a change.
